Certified Tutor

My name is Madison. I am a bright and adventurous freshman in college at the University of Arizona, studying Mathematics with an emphasis on probability and statistics.

Since the second grade, I have been enrolled in gifted or accelerated programs, and have always love school and learning. I attended University High School, one of the nations best public high schools, for all four years and was even nominated for valedictorian. UHS taught me about time management, and helped me understand what kind of teaching styles work for me.

Additionally, during my Senior year at UHS, I spent at least an hour everyday as a Student Instructor for a second year Honors Spanish course. This allowed me to develop my own teaching style, and I was always looking for new ways to explain something to students.

Thanks to UHS, I am entering college with a number of credits thanks to their rigorous AP courses, and I couldnt be more excited or prepared.

As a tutor, I believe in finding what works best for students. Most teachers do not have the opportunity to teach 100 different ways to 100 different students. However, when students have the opportunity to work one-to-one, I believe that they have a right to have their learning tailored to their personal style. When a student understands how they learn best, they can often translate these concepts into the subject areas that they are struggling in, instead of being dependent on a tutor for an extended period of time.

Overall, I want all students to be proud of what they can do, and acknowledge their progress and intelligence. Anybody can do anything as long as they put their mind to it.
