I have two Bachelor of Science Degrees in Mathematics Education and Actuarial Science from Florida State University. I also have a Master of Science in Financial Mathematics from Florida State University. I have 9 years of Mathematics teaching experience in the classroom. I also have worked for the past 8 years as a Math Tutor in the Tallahassee Community College Learning Commons tutoring subjects including Developmental Math, Intermediate Algebra, College Algebra, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus I, II and III, Liberal Arts as well as Statistics. Overall, I have 15 years of experience tutoring Math to a wide range of students at various levels. I enjoy helping students learn and develop confidence in learning Math. In my tutoring style I try to first gauge where the student is struggling and then come to a conclusion how I can explain the concept in a way that they can understand it. To do that I need to know what the student doesn't understand and I find that out by asking questions to determine what they think about a particular concept. Then I can try to work on clarifying the concept. I will then try to guide the student by giving them a problem to work on their own and if they are able to do it without assistance then I know they understand and if they get stuck I'll step in and offer assistance. Tutoring students is a process and it requires the tutor to be attentive to what he needs to do every step of the way. My hobbies are that in my free time I like to play tennis and I like to go to the gym and exercise. And I am a big fan of my alma mater the Florida State Seminoles. I am a season ticket holder for FSU Football and I like to attend games and support a lot of different FSU sports.
