I was born and raised in Shanghai, China for 18 years. I came to the United States to pursuit my college degree in 2010. After 5 years, I graduated from University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign with the degree of Bachelor of Science in industrial engineering. My favorite subject in school has always been math. Since junior high school, I have helped out my cousins who are couple years younger than me, with math problems, both algebra and geometry. I believe the best way to interpret a math problem is to transform it into an everyday situation.
Throughout these years in the United States, I have noticed a lot of people are interested in learning Mandarin Chinese. As a native speaker, I am always eager to share my knowledge of Chinese culture, and teach a few Chinese words here and there to other students. When I was in high school, I helped my English tutor to practice oral Chinese, including common expressions, frequent terms and basic grammar. It is a great pleasure to teach people from different parts of the world my mother tone, and to learn about Chinese culture through the language.
I prefer to tutor in a casual and fun environment. I like to interact with the students. Most importantly, I encourage them to ask me a lot of questions. The more questions they have, the better they will master.
I am easy to get along with, and I like to make new friends. I am a food lover. I enjoy trying and cooking different types of cuisines. During my free time, I like to read Japanese manga, one piece, and do puzzles on my own. Sometimes I practice the piano. When I hangout with friends, we go on road trips and hike.
I've always been eager to share my knowledge with people who need help with, and I am exhilarated that the chance to become a professional role of it has finally arrived.
