Certified Tutor

I am currently working towards my Associate Degree in Sign Language Interpretation/Deaf Support Specialist.

My previous experience working as a tutor involves working with students in a public school setting as a Teacher Assistant for four years; as well as four years of working as a nanny.

I teach English, Writing, Essay Editing, Spelling Bee, and Reading. I also teach American Sign Language, Art, Creative Writing, Fiction Writing, Handwriting, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Excel. I also tutor Public Speaking, Law, Contract Law and Family Law.

I love helping students learn in any subject however, my favorite subjects to teach are reading and reading comprehension because I enjoy guiding students to the world of reading and helping them find joy in stories.

My teaching philosophy is that every student is an individual with their own talents, interests, and goals. They should be treated special and with complete respect.

Outside of academia, I am interested in writing, going to the beach/lake, art and movies. I love all forms of DIY art, as well as drawing, painting and decorating.

Throughout my years in middle school and high school, I participated in Lincoln-Douglas Debate. When I left high school, I was the 12th best Debater in the state of Texas. I helped with Debate Camp at Cameron University in Oklahoma for 2 years. I was the Secretary/Vice President of T.A.F.E (Texas Association of Future Educators) through high school. Finally, I was on dance team, color guard, and choir throughout middle school and high school.
