Certified Tutor

Hi there! Even though I have been a private tutor for almost ten years now (I started when I was in my mid-teens), I just completed by 4th year of formal teaching in high school mathematics. I graduated with a BSEd in Secondary Mathematics from Lincoln University in May of 2013. Shortly after graduating, I began preparing for my first teaching job at Jamestown C-1 School in Jamestown, MO. I was responsible for Geometry, Algebra 2, 7th Grade Math/Lab, and Senior Math. During that year, I also worked towards my MS in Educational Technology through the University of Central Missouri. I was able to complete that program in one year and graduated in May of 2014.

After being at Jamestown for one year, I was asked by a former teacher to consider going to teach at Father Tolton Catholic High School in Columbia, MO. Seeing that I grew up in catholic schooling, I was happy to have the opportunity to go back in that capacity! I began teaching at Father Tolton in August of 2014, where I was responsible for Geometry, College Algebra, Algebra 2 (2014-2015), and Calculus for the Life Sciences (2015-2017).

I love making math "fun" or just "bearable". My students comment on my energy, enthusiasm, and general empathy towards them. I hope to be able to make similar connections with you!
