My name is Shalom and I'm a 6th grade science teacher. I'm a graduate from the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in neuroscience. In my free time, I love to play piano, sing, meet new people, and explore new places via hiking/running.
I believe the best way for a student to learn is to first receive instruction and then teach the concept back to ensure proficiency. First, I will provide effective and clear teaching through simple analogies and example problems. Then, I'll gauge and reaffirm if the student has truly mastered the concept by having him or her teach it back to me. Lastly, I'll have the student complete a problem after learning the material and then revisit the concept and see if the student can still teach it back to me. This will show me that the student has mastered the particular concept.
