Certified Tutor

I am a University of Illinois graduate, dedicated to challenging students to reach their full potential and see the relevancy of their academics, daily life, and life goals and endeavors. As a tutor, I help students to set long-term academic goals and I cooperate and communicate with them to develop friendships and metrics to measure learning and growth. The sessions I conduct with students are catered towards their interests and personality. I enjoy connecting with students and discovering their hobbies and interests to help strengthen our relationship and enhance the tutoring experiences.

I have previously tutored and taught native Chinese students reading, spoken, and written English during my last stay in Shanghai, China. I also privately tutored algebra mathematics to a University of Phoenix student, I also privately tutored Mandarin Chinese to two friends at their own designated times, and I have tutored my sisters and cousins literature and film concepts, analysis, and comprehension. I graduated with a degree in International Relations with a focus on foreign communication and international security. I personal believe stronger connections between tutor and student can be achieved through communication and sharing of hobbies and interests. I am a huge fan of the arts, in particularly films, literature, theater, and music and have often considered returning to school to study art. My personal hobbies include discussing and debating about filmmaking, film critiquing, languages, novels, and music.
