In my free time, I enjoy reading, writing, cooking, and traveling to new places.

What is your teaching philosophy?

I believe that each student should feel invested in, and the first step towards success is building their confidence with the material. I try and break down the assignment from the start, and start with material that the student is comfortable in. From there, we identify goals and work towards them, building the student's confidence as we go along.

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?

During the first session, it is important for me to take some time to talk with the student and potentially his or her parent. I'd like to outline their goals and what they hope to achieve while we work together. We will go over the material, tools, and set concrete goals.

How can you help a student become an independent learner?

I firmly believe in helping the student become an independent and confident learner. After we identify the overall goal, we will set a roadmap with concrete steps working towards that. Along the way, I will work on a series of activities and exercises to help the student build their confidence, become a critical thinker, and problem solve on their own.
