What is your teaching philosophy?
Teachers can help students become independent by giving them an increasing amount of responsibility in doing the steps of any strategy alone after watching a teacher's model, and then practicing together. Students should also be able to have a choice in choosing from multiple strategies to perform the same skill as well as choose the content/media through which they use those skills whenever possible.
