I am a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy. Following graduation from the Academy, I spent two years living in a remote village in Zambia where I worked with the Peace Corps to educate villagers about the prevention of malaria, HIV, and tuberculosis, as well as other illness endemic to the region. When I got back from Zambia, I took the MCAT and soon began medical school. I am currently in my final year as a medical student and hope to begin a surgery residency next year. I love to teach, and have years of experience tutoring a wide array of subjects including algebra I and II, trigonometry, precalculus, calculus, statistics, PSAT, SAT math, reading, and writing, ACT math, reading, and science, religion, literature, and many more. I have worked extensively with students taking FLVS classes, guiding them through their assignments and preparing them for their tests. I have also worked with students traveling the equestrian circuit in Wellington. I know that people are capable of much more than they think they are when they have someone that believes in them and is able to act as a teacher and coach. I love to see people reach for their potential and gain confidence along the way. Outside of tutoring, I love to study for medical school, play with my dogs, run and do yoga. Get in touch if you think I might be a good fit for you!

What is your teaching philosophy?
I believe that people are generally capable of much more than they think they are and usually simply need someone who believes in them in order to reach their potential. A teacher believed in me once: my fifth grade teacher told me that he thought I could not only do all the math problems on a math quiz, but do them far faster than I thought possible. I'll never forget him, because he was one of the first people that showed me the talents I had hidden away inside. In my experience, students are far more capable than they think they are or dare to believe!
