Ingrid: Sussex tutor
Certified Tutor
My name is Ingrid, I am currently a student at the University of Illinois in Chicago. I'm currently a sophomore at the University and a Neuroscience major on the Pre-med track. I currently volunteer at the UIC hospital and would be glad to talk to anyone who is hoping to start volunteering as well. I am very excited to be a tutor because there is nothing I love more than getting to know students and learning together and in the end watching them succeed. I am very passionate about learning and helping others and so I can't wait to begin tutoring and get to know my students better!

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
In a typical first session with a student, I think that it important to get to know the student for both my sake and the students as well. Its first encounter will be based off all things to come. It is also important to get a sense of students abilities or level in that specific subject so that you can set goals right off the bat and be able to work towards those goals.
