Christian
Certified Tutor
I am currently a law student at Northeastern University School of Law. I graduated from college with a B.A. in History and Sociology and have worked hard to keep my reading and college-level writing skills sharp. In my previous position as a community engagement director of a youth non-profit, I hosted college and job preparedness workshops as well as implemented a tutoring program to help youth with their organizational and study skills.
In addition to the volunteer tutoring I've done in youth centers, I have worked for tutoring companies for the past 4 years, specializing in middle and high school math, reading comprehension, writing, and ACT and SAT Test Prep. I continue to volunteer my services outside of those positions as well, in order to provide my expertise to families who cannot otherwise afford lessons. My latest student went from an overall ACT score of 21 to 26, in two months' time.
I truly believe I'm the best person to help out as I focus on making mastering difficult subjects an achievement students can be proud of. Please feel free to reach out to me to speak further!

What is your teaching philosophy?
My goal is always to get students interested in learning. I accomplish this by making the topics relational and applicable to real-life. I love finding new ways to explain complex concepts and truly believe in individualizing my approach and connecting to my students. I am patient, and I focus on making learning enjoyable by making our lessons an interactive process, which boosts retention of information. People tend to remember things they learn through doing or through actual discussion and that is what I deliver.
