Since I can remember, I've had a hard time digesting school materials, even, if it was something that really interests me. It wasn't until high school that my parents arranged for me a tutor. My tutor, Alejandra, helped me get through my freshman year. She truly changed my way of thinking. Not only did she help me with my school grades, she also helped with my confidence levels and emotional state of being. So now, I'm wanting to be an 'Alejandra' for others too.

What is your teaching philosophy?
My teaching philosophy is "KISS" (Keep It Simple Silly). Whenever I am struggling with a subject, I break it down into small, bite-size chunks to make it easier to absorb.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
In a typical 1st session, I pay attention to the tiny details my student says and does to get a better feel for their needs. I also pinpoint their learning style so I can personalize each session to the best of my ability.
How would you help a student stay motivated?
Helping a student stay motivated is the best part of my job. I am consistent with smiles, words of encouragement, high fives, clapping, and even on special occasions, small tangible rewards for an accomplished goal.
