Hello! I tutor in a multitude of subjects such as French, GRE test prep, Political Science & Government, and Film Studies. I currently teach French at a university and have tutored students in the other subjects. I received dual Bachelor's degrees in French and Political Science and I am currently working on my Master's degree in French.
When I'm not tutoring, I enjoy playing tennis, trying new restaurants, and watching new films.

What is your teaching philosophy?
It is essential for the student to feel respected in order to succeed.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
Get to know the student's interest with the subject, as well as outside of school. I would try to determine what type of learner they are.
How would you help a student stay motivated?
Constant positive reinforcement and engaging activities.
If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?
Try to understand what is causing this difficulty and work to eliminate it.
How would you help a student get excited/engaged with a subject that they are struggling in?
Learning can be fun, so I would find more entertaining methods to teach them.
What techniques would you use to be sure that a student understands the material?
I would have them show/explain their work to me.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
Teach them the steps to successful studying.
