Certified Tutor

I am a recent graduate from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a degree in biochemistry and finance. In August, I’ll be beginning medical school at the University of Iowa and hope to become either an oncologist or surgeon in the future. As an undergraduate, I tutored students and friends in an informal setting from both my biochemistry and finance classes. I’ve also had experience taking 10 Advanced Placement tests and the ACT in high school as well as the MCAT (old format). For my tutoring style, I would say that it is first up to the student to come prepared having read the relevant material and performed helpful exercises to the best his/her ability so that we can get the most out of the tutoring session. If still struggling with a specific concept or subject, I will gladly step in to try to explain and demonstrate in a style works for you, whether that be relating it to your interests and hobbies or to real-world examples or current events. I’d be more than happy to provide you with any supplemental material that might help so that you are able to achieve success in whatever subject you take on. Outside of school and tutoring, I enjoy cooking (I’m always looking for new recipes to try!), playing soccer, traveling, hiking, and competing in fantasy sports. I look forward to working with you!
