Mohammad
Certified Tutor
I have been a student all my life. I myself took AP classes and received the IB diploma when I graduated high school. Additionally, I graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Central Florida and then went on to get a Chancellor's scholarship in medical school. As a result, my rigorous education and overcoming educational obstacles have prepared me well to teach other students; I have successfully passed national board exams including MCAT, SAT, COMLEX Level 1, COMLEX Level 2, USMLE Step 1 and USMLE Step 2; I know what it takes to succeed.
I taught students at the Kissimmee Charter Academy in undergraduate school. I'm currently in my fourth year of medical school and finally have some time to dedicate to teach other students. I believe that knowledge is meaningless unless it is shared and applied. I now want to share the knowledge I have acquired over an education of 25 years to teach students and facilitate their learning.
Teaching is an art as much as it is a skill; I love teaching; having been a student all my life, I know how to overcome obstacles that many students face every day. I'm a well-qualified tutor, who can provide not only first-class teaching, but having so much experience, can also uniquely mentor students to stay motivated and develop a positive attitude towards learning so that they can succeed and accomplish their final goals.

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
Identify weaknesses and learning style.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
Encourage a positive attitude toward learning; establish the student's vision and remind them of their final goals; assess and strengthen knowledge base before jumping to complex problems.
How would you help a student stay motivated?
Remind them of their final goal and aspirations.
If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?
Encourage a positive attitude; remind the student to focus on their strengths rather than weaknesses.
How do you help students who are struggling with reading comprehension?
Encourage daily reading; solidify vocabulary base; address weaknesses.
What strategies have you found to be most successful when you start to work with a student?
"It is very hard to fail" attitude; identify learning style of the specific student; identify knowledge gaps; address the student's weakness and mentor the student to a positive psychological state.
How would you help a student get excited/engaged with a subject that they are struggling in?
Relate it to life; show the student the significance of the subject in the real, pragmatic world; use teaching methods that make the subject exciting for the student; remind the student how knowledge of the subject will help him/her in their future careers.

Graduated step-up responsibility to solve simple to then complex problems; reiterating the basics of the subject; strengthening the knowledge core needed to excel within the subject.
