When difficulty arises, I help by coming up with metaphors and acronyms to make complex concepts seem simple.

Students who struggle with comprehension must be able to relate the material in a way they understand. Asking questions always helps.

What strategies have you found to be most successful when you start to work with a student?

Successful strategies are breaking a subject or concept down to an equation or method that works best to piece it back together.

How would you help a student get excited/engaged with a subject that they are struggling in?

To help a student get excited and engaged, I try to keep a positive attitude and focus on the overall outcome and goals.

Small quizzes and testing methods ensure the student understands the material.

I build a student's confidence by encouraging them and acknowledging their success. The more confidence they have, the better they will perform in a subject.

I evaluate a student's need by asking introductory questions and identifying the areas of weakness based on their answers. As a personal relationship develops, I can also evaluate their needs.

What is your teaching philosophy?

My teaching philosophy is to break complex concepts down into a simple method the student can understand.

In a first session, I would assess the strengths and weaknesses of the student to identify their learning habits.
