I love education and especially teaching. I have been tutoring since my undergrad where I taught conversational English to foreign students. I decided to pursue this further by obtaining a TEFL certification and going to teach English in Istanbul, Turkey. I also have a bachelor's degree in science and a master's degree in a social science from an Ivy League University My educational background has provided me with a great background to teach a variety of subjects.

What is your teaching philosophy?
Teaching needs to be interactive. Simply providing methods and answers is not enough to truly learn; you have to listen to the challenges the student faces and with the student find a strategy to overcome those challenges.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
I would introduce myself and my background and would want to hear the same from the student. Then we would talk about what subjects interest the student, and which subjects are more difficult for the student and the reasons why.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
Help them understand that independence is empowerment to learn and be whatever you want in life.
How would you help a student stay motivated?
Take breaks as needed and not let the student get off course by being afraid to ask questions.
If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?
Talk to the student to understand their issues and tweak my approach to become more effective.
