I am very happy with our experience so far with Varsity Tutors. They matched my daughter with reading specialist Mary and she is wonderful! My 10 year old daughter feels happy after her sessions and believes her tutor has already helped her.

Fredrick: Bradenton tutor

Certified Tutor

I am dedicated to providing high quality instruction for students, and I have a track record to back it. During college, I spent four years tutoring high school students for their End of Year Assessments through an educational program. Directly after graduating, I jumped into the classroom full time, teaching 8th grade U.S. history in Dallas, TX, through an educational program. During my time in the classroom, my students always scored above the district average on their annual STAAR test.

I have a strong belief that for a tutor or teacher to be successful, they must develop a relationship with the student, so the student knows their tutor truly cares about them doing better. When both student and tutor are invested, the process is entirely more effective.

I went to Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX, where I graduated Magna Cum Laude with degrees in Film & History. I spent three years in the classroom, but now live in LA to pursue a career as a screenwriter. Despite the change, I wanted to find a way to still give back to students in a meaningful way. I am also an active participant in the Big Brothers program and well known educational programs in L.A.

What is your teaching philosophy?

Make the student do it! The best way to learn is through doing it yourself. My job is to guide you to the correct answer, not do the work for you.
