After years of teaching English as a second language and helping friends with college essays, I am so excited to be formally tutoring. It will give me a chance to exercise my passion both for education and working with others. In the past as an instructor and research assistant I had to adapt to the needs of struggling students and enjoyed thinking creatively to best serve a variety of learners. Though my résumé goes into detail about my relevant previous experiences, here is a summary of who I am and what I have done as it pertains to our future work together:
*Graduated from Sarah Lawrence College
*Fluent in Italian after studying abroad at the University of Florence
*Served as research assistant to the Environmental Science and Italian departments
*TEFL certified
*Has taught ESL in the United States, Italy, and Poland
*Has helped friends and acquaintances with college essay writing for years
*Cook, printmaker, illustrator, and avid reader
From an early age I have been graced with marvelous educators who in turn inspired me to invest my time in others' academic careers. As someone who has consistently demonstrated an interest in teaching, it would be my pleasure to help even more students understand how they can work with their particular strengths in order to reach their goals.
I am looking forward to meeting you!

What is your teaching philosophy?
Be flexible and adjust to student's needs. There's an infinite number of ways to teach the same material, but it all depends on what is best for the student.
