Certified Tutor

I completed my Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Virginia where I majored in Chemistry and Spanish. I subsequently attended the University of California, Berkeley where I earned a Master of Science in Chemistry. I have instructed and tutored students in a variety of subjects, including biological sciences, chemical sciences, and Spanish. I have served as a teaching assistant for a variety of undergraduate lecture and laboratory courses, including biochemistry, general chemistry, and organic chemistry. Through these experiences, I have taught, assessed, and tutored students of all levels and am very familiar with the common and not-so-common challenges they face. More importantly, I have strategies for helping students past their obstacles. There are often useful tips and tricks to help students manage difficult material with greater ease. Above all, I value creating a comfortable environment where even a timid student can feel comfortable taking chances and making mistakes with the material, free of embarrassment, in the name of improving. As I've said to my students, it makes no sense to struggle silently with a hard subject. If you have a question or need some help, all you need to do is ask.
