Paul
Certified Tutor
I attended St. Andrews University in Scotland and received my Bachelor's Degree in English Literature and Language with a secondary focus on Philosophy. During my time there I was able to do a lot of traveling in Europe, including a trip to Romania where I taught ESL in Bucharest. Returning to the United States, I moved to New York City and acquired a Master's Degree in Acting, and worked in Theatre as my profession. I also became a certified ESL instructor teaching students of all levels. From beginners to advanced speakers, my style remained the same, with an emphasis on conversation, grammar correction and listening exercises, and I especially enjoyed tailoring my lesson plans to meet the needs and interests of my students. My tutoring strengths are in English, Writing, Public Speaking and Pronunciation. My teaching experience continued when I moved back to Washington, D.C. and became a substitute teacher for middle school students in grades four, five and six. My interests include creative writing, storytelling, wilderness adventures and caring for our four-leggd friends at the animal hospital where I work.
