I am currently a student at Texas A&M Commerce in McKinney majoring in Elementary Education. I have substitute taught for two years in all grades from preschool through 12th. I really enjoy teaching the younger children and watching their reactions as they learn new material. I have substitute taught in special education classrooms and gifted and talented as well. I tutor all elementary subjects, middle school math, reading, and writing. I also tutor social studies, fiction writing, creative writing, and poetry. Writing has always been a passion of mine and I am very excited to be able to help others achieve their full potential in writing. I believe that students should retain information for longer than just a test. To achieve this, I like to incorporate many types of learning tools into lessons. Because every child has a different learning style, tools vary student to student. However, my favorite thing to do is incorporate learning games so that the student is having fun as well as learning and retaining information. I believe that education can take you wherever you want to go. I also believe that by instilling this into the minds of children, we prepare them to be lifelong learners. When i am not in school or working, I enjoy reading and writing. I love reading classics as well as young adult fiction. I also write every day. It may be only a journal entry or a short story. I love to write and watch words flow from my head to paper.
