Hello I'm Sam!
In 2014, I received my Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Art History with a Concentration in Architecture. In 2018, I received my Masters in Architecture from the City College of New York. Over the last two years, I have gained experience in residential, commercial, mixed-use design, and construction.
While I currently work in design and construction, I have a tremendous amount of experience working with children which began in middle school when I worked as a babysitter for a number of families in my synagogue. In high school, I worked one-on-one with a middle school student concentrating on organizational skills and study habits. Several years later, I began working with K-8th grade students in math and study skills through an online platform and continued to do so throughout my time in college. Upon graduation, I began working with students face to face until starting my graduate degree in the fall of 2015.
My experience as a tutor ranges; however, I am most passionate about helping students with mathematics and organizational skills. The satisfaction of seeing the accomplished look on a child's face when he or she is finally able to grasp a concept with which he or she once struggled is truly amazing. I firmly believe that a tutor needs to match their student's energy. Children are incredibly perceptive so if they see that their tutor is not giving their full-fledged effort, often, they will not either.
