I am a graduate of Barnard College of Columbia University and I received my Bachelor of Arts in English Literature.I have extensive experience working with students on an individual level and have been tutoring students from elementary school through high school for the past 10 years.
I've worked with my students on reading and writing skills, organization and test preparation. My goal is to inspire my students with a lifelong love of learning and to help them develop the tools necessary to achieve that goal. I strive to have my students 'stretch their minds' so that they will succeed in the classroom, on standardized tests and enjoy the process along the way. Most importantly I try to make a connection with my students by listening to them carefully so that I can fully address their specific needs and devise an individualized program of study for them. I find that humor is often a great pathway to making a personal connection and establishing trust.
My husband and I own an instructional baseball business where, in addition to helping students perfect their baseball skills, we mentor players who are striving to play baseball in high school, college and on the professional level. I have three children who have either graduated or are currently attending top colleges and universities - Boston University, Amherst College, Columbia University Business School.
