Certified Tutor

I have received three degrees: a B.A. in Creative Writing and Literature from Wheaton College in Massachusetts in 1999, an M.A. in English Literature from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2000, and a Ph.D. in English from Loyola University Chicago in 2007. I teach writing and literature at the college level, but I have worked with learners of all ages in other tutoring settings, from elementary school students to adult and continuing education students. I specialize primarily in writing and English language and literature tutoring, but my Ph.D. is in the historical field of nineteenth-century literature so I am also able to tutor historical and sociological fields. In addition, I have experience tutoring all subjects at the elementary and middle school levels. When I am not teaching, I enjoy being active, especially hiking and camping and being in the outdoors. I am also a film buff, especially for horror and science fiction films but I love all types of movies. I love music too and always like to hear about new bands and artists!
