What is your teaching philosophy?
My teaching philosophy is to teach in a variety of ways so that all types of learners have the opportunity to learn and succeed.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
I get to know the student and their learning styles; assess their skills, strengths, and what needs improvement; and create a plan to help them succeed!
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
By giving them assignments to do on their own but also working on becoming an independent learner gradually.
How would you help a student stay motivated?
Set weekly goals and goals for each tutoring session!
If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?
Utilize the skill sets of the student to help them work at learning the skill or concept. I believe it is important to work at the student's level and help them reach their goal by using the skills that help them best succeed.
