Originally from Upstate New York, I have had a passion for the Chinese language since first traveling to China in 2006. I have studied Chinese at George Washington University in Washington DC, and at Peking University in Beijing. I have been living and working in China for the past several years, as a marketing director at a Beijing architecture company, and as a translator at China National Geographic. I am currently enrolled in a Chinese master's program at NYU.

I understand that learning Chinese can be overwhelming and frustrating at times, especially when you're just starting out. But, I also understand how fun and deeply interesting it can be, once you are able to get beyond the barriers and start to reach fluency; which is a level that any learner can reach! Every student is different, so custom strategies and curricula can be created to address their needs. It is also imperative to focus on both reading and speaking, as well as Chinese typing or writing. We can create a customized course to address your learning needs (I.E. heavier focus on reading, specific subject vocabulary, etc). Due to my professional experience in China, I would be happy to help with learning business Chinese. I am also excited to advise students on Chinese cultural/historical elements, and give advice about living, studying, working, or traveling in China. I hope I can have the opportunity to help you learn Chinese as I have!

In terms of my hobbies and interests, I really enjoy history and international affairs. I also really like writing, traveling, and tea.
