I am currently a law student at South Texas College of Law. I began tutoring as a freshman in my undergraduate years and I get a great sense of joy when I help another student accomplish something that they felt was impossible. I learned the value of an education early in life when when my grandmother would ask me to read to her from age six and well into my teens. I had no idea that all that reading was advancing my reading and comprehension skills beyond my years. I absolutely love to read and believe that one should never limit their reading choices. Read everything in sight! I don't think I would have been successful in my career and in law school without the knowledge I have gained from simply broadening my horizons when reading. It wasn't until I was in college that I discovered that I also had a talent for writing and public speaking. I continue to write and enjoy perfecting my skills for my career and my own enjoyment. Legal writing is the most challenging type of writing that I have had to learn but I enjoy pushing myself past my comfort zone and really putting my analytical skills to work. I believe that you should have a passion about what you are doing and that makes it much easier to enjoy and succeed. I enjoy tutoring students and showing them they are more than capable of getting over whatever hurdles may be in their way if they first believe in themselves and then assess what it is that is really holding them back. I believe learning should be a lifelong adventure and my goal is to help students find a learning style and study habits that is natural for them and maximizes their potential.
