Certified Tutor
I am a recent graduate of Sacred Heart University with a degree in English, and I am currently enrolled getting my Masters in Education. Currently I work in an elementary school, grades Pre-K through eighth grade, and assist in various classrooms. I have worked with students of all levels and in various subjects. I tutor English Language Arts, Government, and lower level Mathematics. All three of those subjects are great to tutor, but I am a little biased towards English. I like to work with students by meeting them where they are at and finding ways to help them connect to the material. Everything is about making the student comfortable and letting them know they can succeed. I used to be a member of the colorguard at Sacred Heart University, and I miss it so much! I wish that I were still spinning.

What is your teaching philosophy?
That each student can succeed as long as they have the push and attention that they need. Each student needs to treated as the individual that they are to truly thrive in the classroom.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
Create a comfortable environment with the student and get to know them outside of their academic concerns. It is important to build relationships with students to assist them academically. Additionally, I would want to see exactly where the student is struggling and the best way to assist them!
