Aaronson
Certified Tutor
I am a PhD candidate in the Department of Counseling Psychology at the University of Wisconsin at Madison. Before moving to Brooklyn, I spent the past five years living in Madison, WI working on my graduate coursework where I have served as a Psychotherapist to many community organizations and worked for numerous student support programs. I have seven years of experience mentoring, tutoring, advising, and coordinating student support efforts for middle school, high school, undergraduate, and graduate students.
I am passionate about empowering the students by building their personal confidence and academic abilities. I have a background in Math and Science and am getting my PhD minor in Statistics and Research Design. I also received my Bachelor's degree at the University of California - Irvine in Comparative Literature. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about Math, Psychology, English, and test preparation.
In my work, I highlight the strengths of my students and operate from the perspective that there are many equally effective ways of learning. As a result, I strive to help students become more aware of their unique learning style to become more effective in their academics. In my spare time, I enjoy swimming, yoga, playing guitar, cooking, drinking coffee, and watching Sunday football.
