I am a graduate of the University of Puget Sound. I received my Bachelor of Science in Molecular and Cellular Biology. I have been tutoring since I was in high school and have become passionate about helping my students succeed and reach their goals. I have experience with students from pre-kindergarten through high school. Most of my experience is related to preparing my students for standardized tests, focusing on useful test-taking strategies. While I am able to tutor a broad range of subjects, I am more geared towards math and science subjects. I encourage my students to become comfortable using a variety of methods to solve problems. This decreases their chance of getting stuck on difficult problems. Helping my students make connections between similar problems and having a hallmark example for them to think back on is another way I train my students to tackle difficult problems. Outside of academia, I enjoy doing yoga, running, reading inspirational books, going to the zoo, getting a good laugh with my friends, and going home to Hawaii for the holidays. Currently, I am working towards my PharmD at the University of Colorado.
