Certified Tutor

I am a graduate of the Macaulay Honors College of the City University of New York. I received both my Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in History with a Modern European concentration. I am currently applying to Master's of Adolescent Social Studies programs and I plan to begin in February. I have over three years of experience in education. For two years I tutored students as a writing consultant at the City College Writing Center. I taught students History and Grammar, and I edited their academic papers. In addition, I encountered numerous ESL students and, because I enjoyed assisting them, I completed a 160 hour TEFL certification to become a better ESL educator. Since August 2012, I have been employed as a museum educator with the Museum of Jewish Heritage ??? A Living Memorial to the Holocaust. I give guided tours to K-12 students, and I also taught in-house at various New York City schools using PowerPoint and other visual aids for the museum???s ???Meeting Hate with Humanity??? program. Though I tutor many subjects, I especially enjoy History, Writing, and Essay Editing. In today's globalized economy, having the skills to accurately and succinctly exchange knowledge through written communication can really make one stand out in a pool of an increasingly educated workforce. In my spare time, I cycle, jog, hike, and play chess. I am also a volunteer firefighter.
