Certified Tutor

I am a graduate of Brigham Young University. I received my Bachelors of Science degree in Nutritional Science. I also received a minor in French Language. After graduation, my wife and I moved to New York City where I am currently working on my Masters degree in Human Nutrition at Columbia University in the city of New York. My plans include attending medical school upon completion of my Masters.

I worked as a tutor at Brigham Young University for two years. During these two years, I tutored students in most science subjects including Biology, Chemistry, Anatomy and Physiology, Physics, and Nutrition. I have also tutored students in French. I took French 1-4 in high school and completed a minor in French Language. I also completed a study abroad to Paris, France. While working as a tutor, I have learned two things specifically that improve the learning environment. The first is that each individual possesses a unique style of learning. It is important that I understand that style of learning so that real growth can be accomplished. The second is that teaching and learning are not two separate activities. As a student teaches principles they are learning they are able to understand those principles at a deeper level.

I was born and raised in North Carolina and I am a NC State fan. I love watching college football and basketball. I played football and soccer in high school and continue to play whenever a chance arises. I also enjoy spending time with my wife seeing the sites of New York City! I have five brothers and sisters and we all love getting together whenever can. I look forward to the opportunity to help wherever I can!
