Certified Tutor

My passion is language. I love anything to do with words, sentences, and paragraphs. I've been sharing my love of language through tutoring for the past ten years. Language learning is all about immersion; I try to give my students as much listening and conversation practice as possible. I also believe that learning should be fun, and that students remember exercises they enjoy. With this in mind I try to incorporate engaging literature, games, videos, and pictures into every lesson. Hopefully at the end of their sessions, students will feel the same passion I do for the subject!

I have tutored students as young as ten and as old as seventy in Spanish, Hausa, Japanese, ESL, and GED. I enjoy working with every age and level of ability and my students always amaze me with their ability to engage and grow. I also enjoy tutoring the reading and writing sections on the basic standardized tests. Test taking is a student's time to shine, and tutoring will not only focus on the material, but also strategies on test taking in general.
