Hello! I graduated in May of 2012 from Arizona State University with a degree in Global Health and a minor in Sustainability, and I will be attending Dartmouth's Geisel School of Medicine beginning this fall. I came from Idaho to study at ASU because of the Global Health program and a scholarship offer, and decided to stay this year while I apply to medical school. I stayed busy throughout college and took advantage of every opportunity I could. I worked at Arizona Neurology and Dystonia Institute, which initially sparked my interest in working with students because I saw how challenging learning can be without the right tools. I completed an internship and thesis research in Guatemala, and studied abroad for three months in Costa Rica. I also I volunteer at a health clinic as a Spanish/English translator. Ultimately, I want to work in low-income/underserved communities providing preventative medical care.


As a student, it hasn't been long since I myself went through the tedious process of college entrance exams. I also recently took the MCAT. I know the best strategies for studying and testing well, and I am constantly evaluating students' learning styles, study habits and testing approach in order to teach them new ways of looking at material. I have training in speed reading, which has been an invaluable skill that I try to transfer to my students.
