The student worked on homework problems involving trigonometric functions. These included the famous water wheel problem, the pendulum problem, and others. We will likely have a review session on Thursday to prepare her for her exam on Friday.

The student and I reviewed for his probability test. Overall, he did well understanding the basics of simple and compound probability, probability trees, and Venn diagrams, but a few questions that involved twists on the concepts caused him trouble. I advised him to review the notes from our sessions on his own before the test.

Today the student started with his social studies homework. We talked about the different continents and hemispheres. Then, he completed his math homework where he practiced adding and regrouping. Finally, we started writing a creative fantasy writing piece. He showed great understanding of punctuation, complete sentences, and dialogue!

We did a review of student interests. The student is interested in books about science and science concepts. He is proficient with some fluency and self correction. In addition to finding out his reading interests, the he also performed a read aloud. We will continue to practice reading aloud so the student will be able to read with more expression.

Student 1 is working on fractions. We are identifying fractions. We are also adding and subtracting fractions with like and unlike denominators. Student 2 is working on her twos and 3's. She has been struggling with these, so I left her with flashcards and extra practice problems for her to practice.

We reviewed the several revolutions in Latin America and key terms and people associated with these events. I helped the student to cement these terms by using them in association with each other. We also reviewed his geometry packet, and I explained more properties of parallelograms. He will have finals this next week.
