Went over several examples of Algebra 1 problems with the student, as she is preparing to take the math placement test at her university. We went through examples on calculating slope, simplifying rational expressions involving negative exponents. We also went over solving one-variable linear equations.

The student and I worked on Physics today.  We covered chapter 2, which is movement in one dimension - displacement, velocity, acceleration, and falling objects.  In the last five minutes we briefly reviewed her Pre-Calc.

Worked with the student on both math and science. We went over his math notes analyzing the areas of circles. We then moved onto chemistry and spent the bulk of our time on chemistry. He completed a few different worksheets, and we moved ahead to review problems for the midterm. He is starting to be able to write out chemical compounds and analyze an element's charge.

The student and I worked together for the first hour on the math section he did for me last time. There were several concepts he didn't know (particularly geometry) and I think he had a much clearer understanding when I left. The student and I worked together afterwards, mainly focusing on vocabulary because, we had a very limited amount of time to work in.

Today was my first session with the student. She is scheduled to take the SAT again next month and would like to bring her score up to help her get accepted into the nursing program at school. She reported to me that she feels relatively confident in her mathematical ability, but would like to work on her critical thinking/reading skills. She wants to work on interpreting the questions and wording.
