Science Tutoring review by Robert in Westminster
The student and I worked on both anatomy and physiology concepts, as well as some biochemistry. She wanted to review some questions about gastrointestinal physiology and nervous system control. Also, she had a few questions regarding cranial nerve innervations in the mouth and head as well as gland production. We reviewed some information about glycolysis and gluconeogenesis at the end of our session to help her for her upcoming biochemistry exam.

The student and I covered smooth muscle contraction, and what are the similarities and differences between smooth and muscular muscle tissues and mechanisms. We also covered the muscle tone and graphs section and how to interpret muscle contraction from a stimulation frequency graph. Then we reviewed the whole section in general to prepare for the exam. I gave the student almost a 100 question containing multiple choice, fill in the blank, matching and short answer questions. we solved them and explained everything.

Today we reviewed muscle groups once again, and completed a worksheet on muscle anatomy, contraction, and stimulation. This was an important step in solidifying the student's understanding of the muscular system. They have a quiz this week, and we will be discussing the results and preparing for a larger exam next week.

Today the student and I covered did a review of the practice questions that I sent him as review for his exam tomorrow. We mostly went over bones and joints, because those were the sections where he got the most questions wrong. They were memorization-type questions, and he did have a good grasp on understanding the material. I made sure to tell him (and his mom) to make sure that he really goes over those little details, because while he understands the big concepts, the little details are what he keeps messing up on. We did go over extra practice questions during the session, and if he really reviews the test materials tonight, I think he'll do fine on his exam tomorrow.
