I am a MEng Mechanical Engineering graduate, and when I applied for my degree course I knew it was the right path for me because I had a deep passion for mathematics and physics specifically. Although my tenacity was driven by my personal belief in the value of education, I was also supported greatly by teachers who recognised my potential. So I continue to apply myself to opportunities that will help other students maximise their potential too.
I have been a volunteer GCSE Maths tutor for students from disadvantaged backgrounds for almost two years now, and it is a role that I truly enjoy for the fact that it is rewarding to observe the progression of students over the course of our tutorials. I am a tutor who knows when to step back to let the student build their resilience, and I am always prepared to adapt to the student's strengths, weaknesses, and learning styles.
I am also a volunteer coach for GCSE students, where I guide students to gain the skills and confidence needed to achieve their personal and academic goals. This has been a role where I have learnt alot about how to engage confidently with younger students, and I have been privileged to see my coachees grow in their ambition as a result of our coaching sessions.
My enthusiasm for learning has been my most enduring and prized trait, and it has helped me to achieve much more than my academic qualifications. As a tutor, I am there to help students recognise their strengths and develop a passion for learning beyond their classrooms.

In my personal time I like to read books from various genres, and I often buy many more books than I have time to read. I am currently reading The Catcher in the Rye by J.D Salinger, though this is not the first time I have read the book, nor will it be the last. I also enjoy writing, nowadays I write mostly in my journal but when I was at university I was an editor for my student newspaper. This was a role I deeply enjoyed as I had the opportunity to be creative in how I designed the newspaper pages, as well as the freedom to explore different topics that really fascinated me. My most enduring hobby has definitely been art, so it is very important to me that I am always trying new creative pursuits. So I am often sketching, painting, or sculpting with clay. When I want to relax I usually listen to one of my many, many playlists or I look for a science fiction film that I have not already watched and re-watched on Netflix!
