We've had the BEST experience with VT! Our tutor has helped my middle schoolers math grades come up from a D to an A for our 8th grader and from a D to a B for my 6th grader. I'm beyond pleased with how she connected with my boys.

Today we went over Newton's laws and friction. Once we went over the concepts, the student was able to do the problems relatively quickly. We also went over a practice test for her actual physics test.

Science Tutoring review by Steven in Portsmouth
The student was working on some review for an upcoming midterm, on the subjects of vectors and kinematics. We reviewed a couple of problems and worked through the details, starting from where we had left off in our last appointment. Once we went through the steps, she seemed comfortable with most of the ideas (and we will practice them more in upcoming sessions).

Science Tutoring review by Andrew in Portsmouth
This was our third online meeting. The student was able to send me the vitamins lecture, water/minerals lecture and the exam study guide before the session so we had all of those materials available. I followed up on some thoughts from last time regarding aminopeptidase, dipeptidase, and protein sparing. We spent a little while discussing those concepts and how they fit into the previous lecture. I also provided three review questions (two for the protein lecture, one for the GI disorders lecture), which she answered and we reviewed. With the exam coming up this Thursday, we focused on the study guide as the outline for our meeting today. We reviewed each point of the digestion and protein sections, taking time to think about how to best study for each point and the possible questions that might show up on the exam. After that, we transitioned to the vitamins lecture. We discussed each slide on that lecture focusing on the topics that were emphasized in class for this exam. We followed with the water/minerals lecture, where we focused on the points for this exam (skimming past some material not on this exam). After the lectures, we went back to the exam study guide and reviewed some tricky concepts and discussed methods for reviewing prior to the exam. She seems to understand all of the important concepts and will continue to review those while spending study time working with some of the more memorization based topics. I made sure that she was aware that I am available to contact if any difficulties come up in preparation for the exam. I feel that we made some great progress again today, and I feel that she should be able to do well on the exam especially if her independent study time goes well.
