We've had the BEST experience with VT! Our tutor has helped my middle schoolers math grades come up from a D to an A for our 8th grader and from a D to a B for my 6th grader. I'm beyond pleased with how she connected with my boys.

Math Tutoring review by Sarah in Westminster
The student and I continued to work on matrix manipulation and elimination to solve system of equations. He has shown great understanding of how to go about matrix inversion, as well as intuition for row operations. One area I have cautioned him on, is to watch his signs as he does row operations, since a small error in the beginning will permeate through the rest of his work. We also practiced matrix multiplication (and how to tell if it can or cannot be done). Overall, he is doing very well with these concepts.

We prepared for an exam covering inequalities, the quadratic equation and quadratic formula. The material is the same as was covered in the last quiz (which he scored a 100%). I feel very confident in his ability with this material.

The student and I reviewed some the problems that he had difficulty with on Exam 2, which included improper integrals and derivation of equations for work. We then reviewed techniques of integration and completed practice problems involving integration by parts, simplification using trigonometric identities and algebraic manipulation, u substitution, trigonometric integrals, trigonometric substitution, integration by partial fractions, and the combination of several of these. He mentioned that he feels our sessions have been beneficial and he wants to definitely meet 12/5, 12/6, and 12/9.

Math Tutoring review by Lescard in Westminster
We covered simplifying rational expression of multiplication and division by the means of factoring and cancelling like terms as well as reestablishing and reviewing factoring. I know he is passing the subject. He is struggling with remembering the concepts. I helped him out by giving him extra work to review and get comfortable with the work. I gave him work to do on his own, and he gets them correct most of the time. He just needs a little more self confidence and to review his work. He is getting the work, and he is remembering more and more as we progress.
