We've had the BEST experience with VT! Our tutor has helped my middle schoolers math grades come up from a D to an A for our 8th grader and from a D to a B for my 6th grader. I'm beyond pleased with how she connected with my boys.

We covered trig concepts, including angular and linear velocity, reference angles, co-terminal angles, and the unit circle. The student was readily able to solve an angular velocity problem (the spinning wheel) with little guidance, and was able to compute reference and co-terminal angles after brief descriptions of each. I explained the construction of the unit circle again with examples, and encouraged him to practice repeatedly drawing it so he can do so at the beginning of his next test. He got an A on his last quiz, so he is comfortable enough with basic trig calculations. He continues to be very comfortable with biology, and we briefly reviewed the main organelles of the cell.

The student had an assignment on macronutrient cycles: water, C, N, P. We discussed biotic and abiotic reservoirs and how inorganic molecules become bioavailable. We practiced searching text for information using key words from the question. He was able to find most answers on his own using this method. We made an outline of the ideas for a study sheet. We also updated the assignment log with upcoming tests.
