The student and I continued through the quantitative section. We first worked on triangles, both isosceles (non-right) and special right triangles. The main thing we got out of this was a solidification on 30-60-90 triangles and our need to NOT make assumptions regarding the triangles shown in the problem. We finished the session talking about the various equations needed to figure out V and SA of different solids. Moving forward, we will work on algebra next week and then spend the last couple weeks before the test mainly burnishing the qualitative.

We had a good first session. The student has good mathematical instincts, so we need to work on her timing and bolster a few topics she's unfamiliar with, like probability. We will meet again on Saturday.

GRE Tutoring review by James in Portsmouth
We covered fundamentals of quantitative, including key terms and concepts (factors, multiples, primes) and started working on techniques such as plugging in numbers. The student already has a good grasp of how quant comp works and so just needs to work on applying that understanding to real problems.

GRE Tutoring review by Sunny in Portsmouth
The student started with a review of trig, did some analogies, completed two science reading comp passages, and ended with more trig. And in the last couple slides, I presented her with a sheet of the important formulas and concepts that I believe she should master before taking the state assessment. I also reminded her of some helpful tips regarding analogies, chem, and reading comp. She will be taking the exam on Thursday, and she will let me know if she has any last-minute questions during the week. Overall, I had such a delightful time working with her! I wish her the best in all her endeavors.
