French Tutoring review by Robert in Chesterfield
We covered all tenses of four verbs given by the teacher. We drilled and tested all forms of each verb. The meanings were tested as well as the uses. The student completed the study by being able to know the forms and pronounce them correctly.

The student and I read another story today. This one was more difficult as it had some old fashioned/out of use words. Her comprehension was a bit lower than the first lesson, but she stayed energetic and made a good attempt. We ended up not doing the second story, and did the questions for the first story. I would advise her not to try to take on too much as she is a smart girl and will catch up soon.

French Tutoring review by Maya in Chesterfield
The student did such an excellent job today. I'm so proud of her! We focused on using direct and indirect object pronouns in the present and past tenses. The student has marked the section of her French review and practice book for some extra exercises on this, if time. We are now ahead of what the class is covering. Way to go!

French Tutoring review by Randa in Chesterfield
We started with a review of the three new "target" verbs, dire, couloir, and pouvoir. We went over each verb in present, imperfect, and passe compose tenses. Then I presented a "sneak preview" of the two tenses we will study next, future and conditional.

French Tutoring review by Miriam in Chesterfield
The student has been reviewing his flashcards, so we spent this session doing practical exercises to utilize what he has been learning with the cards. This included fill-in-the-blank exercises utilizing passe compose with avoir and etre, as well as a paragraph exercise. We went through 3 paragraph exercises (they were in present tense). I had him read them aloud to practice pronunciation, then I had him translate them into English. Finally, I had him go through and change/read on the spot the sentences in passe compose. These 3 sets were an absolutely perfect exercise. It showed where he is still struggling (translation and changing to passe compose), but gave him ample opportunity to build his confidence along the way. I am confident that doing a few of these each week will help him on his exams.

French Tutoring review by Jessica in Chesterfield
Today the student and I covered a variety of topics. We went over several words for places that one would find in town and then the phrases for telling where to find places (next to, far from, etc.). We did a couple exercises for these words in the book we each have, too. We then worked on telling time again in which he did really, really well. I gave him several different times to write out as homework to bring with him for the next session next week. We will soon go over basic, main verbs such as etre, avoir, and aller as well as useful phrases to use while traveling in France and then food and beverage words. Tutoring sessions continue to go super well with him!
