Growing, I was lucky enough to learn to take immense pride in my academics. My grandma is a retired math professor and my mom double majored in English and math and went onto law school where she met my dad. When it came to the classroom (and on the athletic field), my dad only asked for my best effort while my mom always wanted me to bring home the A and the win (thankfully no matter what I brought home she still loved me because I was not the most gifted athlete). My experiences with my parents' academic philosophies led me to develop one of my own: commit to the process, do your best, and earn the grade.During my undergrad years at the University of Florida, I earned my degree in Business Administration with an outside concentration in Sports Management and minored in Entrepreneurship. Outside of the classroom, I was a student manager for the Florida Gator baseball team that won two SEC titles and made two trips to the College World Series in my 4 years with the team.When not helping others excel in the classroom, I can be found enjoying football, baseball, and basketball, working on my terrible golf game, trying new recipes in the kitchen, and enjoying beautiful South Florida with friends and family.

I'm a strong believer in the benefits of well-guided mentorship in learning a new topic and have a long history of effective tutoring. I graduated from Mercer University with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, and worked as an elementary school teacher for almost 20 years. During that time, I worked with students on varying academic levels and enjoyed a lot of success in moving them forward in their learning. My passion has always been working with children to help them succeed in school and in life. I recognize that students learn in different ways and I use their strengths to guide them. During the academic year 2010-2011, my fellow teachers voted me Teacher of the Year for our school. I was honored with this award because of the high standards I set and achieved for my students and myself. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, walking, and fellowship with others.

I recently graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Madison and moved to Arizona in August, 2014. From my experience teaching swimming and skiing lessons in High School, I not only found that I enjoyed teaching, but I was also very good at it. This experience coupled with my passion for Math and Science sparked my interest in becoming a tutor. In my free time, I enjoy playing and watching sports, reading books, and watching movies. I look forward to meeting and helping my tutees.
