My major was Business and I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree.I am passionate regarding two subjects, and both involve numbers (Algebra and Accounting).My philosophy in learning is to initially have a broad understanding of the material. The question needs to be asked, what is the purpose of these concepts and what is it going to tell us. Knowing definitions and how these concepts interrelate are like the border of a puzzle. The next step is to go through problems, so you start getting a more detailed understanding to fill in the gaps and the rest of the puzzle. Between the initial understanding and the more detailed problem solving, should give the student an ability to think their way through a problem.I am very patient and know how uncomfortable it is when you're not understanding something. My objective is to clarify those uncomfortable moments and bring things to light. I will sit with a student for as long as it takes to ensure they understand a particular concept. I will also attempt to explain concepts in different ways to help a student learn.Other accomplishments in my career include obtaining a CPA license and being conditionally accepted in the MBA program at the University of Texas. During my college years, I had taken several math classes including College Algebra. On the GRE exam, which is the national graduate school entrance exam, I ranked in the top 6% on the math section. The GRE is similar to the SAT exam only harder.In the past several months, I have studied and reviewed several Algebra books and the Las Vegas school system Algebra syllabus to bring myself current and up to date.Thank you

I am currently a senior at Baruch College in New York City. At Baruch, I am working on a Bachelor of Economics degree, which I will have completed by May of 2016. I have received an Associates in Arts and Science as well as a Minor in English. I have a study strategy in which I learn subjects in class to the point where I can explain it to someone who has never heard of it before. I have found that this way of studying has not only enhanced my learning ability, but it has helped other students receive high grades as well. Ever since High School, I have always been one to help out others who struggle with the material taught in class. In college, I have helped numerous classmates understand course material as well. I have led multiple study groups in an effort to not only learn by teaching others but to have the opportunity to see my peers succeed as well. I genuinely enjoy seeing students who I have helped get the grades that I know they are truly capable of.

I have been a business professor and a business tutor for over 10 years. My aim is to discern the individual learning styles of my students and to work with each of them in a manner that addresses his/her individual style. My greatest joy in tutoring is seeing the sparkle in a student's eyes when he/she understands a concept and is able to explain and it back to me.

I hold a Ph.D. in Business from Northcentral University, an MBA from Oklahoma City University and a post graduate certificate from Trident University (Post graduate work in Business). My undergraduate degrees are in science (BS and AS). I served in the US Marines and have traveled all over the world. I am semi-retired with time on my hands. I am certified as a secondary education teacher in all subjects from 4th to 8th grade. I hold special certification in science (4th to 6th grades) and business (6th to 12th grades). I have tutored students in math and science from 4th to 8th grades and in college, I have tutored and taught in any business subject. While I tutor students in all subjects, I am very passionate in science and business. I have taught students from all over the world. In my experience helping struggling students prepare for Standardized Tests, we always seem to have the most fun (with remarkable advancements) prepping for the Critical Reading, math, history, and Writing portions of the exams. When I was in 5th grade, I could hardly read or write. My 5th grade teacher helped me develop the skills necessary to learn and thrive. Back then, they did not have special programs to help students with learning problems, especially dyslexia. I owe her everything for my success and the future I created. I am trying to pay her back for her he, helping you succeed. You see, I went from a Cs, Ds, and Fs to straight As in high school and college (Although in college I did achieve a few Bs and one Cs). So can you. I am a firm proponent and believer in quality education. I have no doubt that education is the significant key factor for an improved quality of life and success in your future.
