After teaching Spanish (elementary, middle school and high school)for 13 years in New Jersey schools, I feel that I have had the opportunity to deal with all types of learners. I also have experience tutoring a home bound student and a visually impaired student while I was teaching. During the summer, I taught a Summer Enrichment course to help 8th grade students to continue to improve proficiency in Spanish before entering high school.
I believe that every child can learn and will learn if given the best learning environment(i.e. focusing on their personal style of learning, personality, likes/dislikes, etc). I strive to create a love of learning in all of my students and have had several years of experience in teaching students who have had difficulty learning a language. One of the most successful methods that I have found is to create a learning environment where fun and creativity is encouraged.
