About Me

Hello! My name is Latondra Ward, and I am thrilled to be your tutor, specializing in Elementary School English, Math, Reading, Writing, and Phonics. With almost 25 years of teaching experience, including my current role as the lead teacher and school test coordinator, I am passionate about helping students build a strong foundation in literacy and numeracy. I believe that every child learns differently, so I tailor my lessons to accommodate various learning styles, using engaging activities and technologies like PowerPoint presentations and videos. My teaching philosophy centers on fostering a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and exploring their abilities. I am dedicated to ensuring that my students not only succeed academically but also develop a love for learning that will last a lifetime. In addition to my educational background, which includes a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction and a Specialist Degree in Curriculum, Instruction, and Professional Development, I am also a licensed fitness instructor. This allows me to incorporate movement and wellness into my teaching approach. I look forward to partnering with you in your child's educational journey!
