10+ years of tutoring
Sarah
- I am a graduate of Lawrence University in Wisconsin, where I earned a Physics degree.
- It was there that I discovered my passion for tutoring, which led me into teaching.
About Me
I taught Physics at several schools in California before my life took a different direction, though in my corporate work I have always relished the opportunity to help teach my colleagues technical skills. My teaching philosophy centers on an individualized approach, with a strong emphasis on cognitive modeling as a tool to enable students to learn how to reason through a problem - a vital skill, not only in math and science, but in life in general. I hold a deep love for physics, math, and astronomy, and also enjoy inorganic chemistry. In my spare time I enjoy reading and writing speculative fiction, as well as swimming, cooking, and fiber crafts.
Hobbies & Interests
I am deeply interested in human psychology, history, and innovation. This has led me to hobbies including reading and writing character-driven fiction, and historical textile recreation and analysis. I also love learning about world languages and cultures, and am grateful that the Internet allows me to do this without leaving home.
